Does LP Polster make camper mattresses custom-made?

Yes. We make custom camper mattresses for vans, motorhomes and caravans. Length, width, height and shape can be individually adapted to the existing sleeping area.
What mattress height do you recommend for a camper?

For many campers, we recommend a mattress height of about 8 to 12 cm. With enough space, 10 to 12 cm offers very good sleep comfort. With limited build height, thinner versions can also be made.
Is 8 cm enough for a camper mattress?

Yes. With a suitable foam quality, 8 cm can already offer good lying comfort. If the mattress is used regularly or for extended periods, we recommend 10 to 12 cm instead, if space allows.
What foam quality is suitable for a camper mattress?

For regularly used camper mattresses, we recommend a high-quality HR foam. This offers a good combination of comfort, shape stability and durability. We choose the exact quality to match the mattress height and desired firmness.
Which firmness is suitable for my camper mattress?

The right firmness depends, among other things, on body weight, sleeping position, mattress height and personal lying feel. That's why firmness should always be chosen together with the desired mattress height.
Are camper mattresses with angled cuts and special shapes possible?

Yes. Standard mattresses are often unsuitable, especially in campers and motorhomes. We also make angled cuts, curves, angled corners, cutouts and other special shapes to match your vehicle.
Can a camper mattress also be made in multiple parts?

Yes. A camper mattress can consist of two or more individual elements. This can be especially practical for tight spaces, bed conversions or hard-to-reach sleeping areas.
Does LP Polster also make foldable camper mattresses?

Yes. We can also make folding mattresses to measure. These are especially suitable for campers and vans where the sleeping area is to be folded up or used otherwise during the day.
Can I configure my camper mattress directly online?

Yes. You can conveniently configure your custom camper mattress online at LP Polster. Enter your dimensions and choose the desired height, foam quality and other options. For special shapes, you can also send us a sketch or template.
What's more important for a camper mattress – thickness or firmness?

Both need to match. A very firm, thin mattress can be just as uncomfortable as a too-soft, thick mattress. What matters is the combination of mattress height, foam quality, firmness, body weight and substructure.
Can I replace my old motorhome mattress with a new custom mattress?

Yes. If your existing mattress is saggy, too hard, too soft or doesn't fit properly, we can make a new custom motorhome or camper mattress to match your sleeping area.
Are the covers removable?

Can camper mattresses be made from a sketch or template?

Yes. For simple special shapes, a dimensioned sketch is often enough. For complex curves and individual vehicle contours, a template can be useful so the mattress can be made as precisely as possible.

3–5 cm – Thin pads & covers
Compact solution for areas where little cushion height is needed. -
5–8 cm – Bench pads & occasional seating
Good comfort for benches and cushions not used permanently. -
8–10 cm – Regularly used seat cushions
High seating comfort and a good choice for daily use. -
10–12 cm – Seat, lounge & comfort cushions
Very comfortable and ideal for cosy seating and lounge areas. -
12–15 cm+ – Deep seats, sleeping & lounge cushions
Especially comfortable for generous seating and sleeping areas. -
LP-Polster recommendation: for an individual project, there's no single correct cushion thickness. What matters is the application, available space, desired comfort and the right foam quality. If you're unsure about your choice, you can simply send us your project with photos and dimensions.
5–7 cm – Very little space & occasional use
Compact solution for campers where only little height is available.
8 cm – Van & camper with limited space
Good sleep comfort with a low mattress height at the same time.
10 cm – Regular use
High sleep comfort and a good choice for regularly used camper beds.
12 cm – Frequent sleeping in the camper
Very high comfort and well suited for longer trips or frequent overnight stays.
14–15 cm+ – Plenty of space & longer trips - especially comfortable when sufficient height and storage space are available.
LP-Polster recommendation: for most camper and motorhome projects, 8 to 12 cm is a good range. What always matters, however, is the combination of mattress height and the right foam quality.
