How are the cushions made at LP Polster?
-
Our custom cushions are made individually to the desired dimensions and shapes. Depending on the version, foam, jersey and optional padding are used. The workmanship of the cover is also adapted to the cushion height and desired look.
Which cushion shapes can LP Polster make?
-
We don't just make rectangular cushions. Trapezoid shapes, wedge shapes, angled cuts, curves and complex special shapes are also possible. Custom-made items can also be produced from a sketch or template.
How are cushions from 5 cm in height processed?
-
At LP Polster, cushions from a height of 5 cm are sewn using the strip method. The cover is made up of a top, a bottom and a surrounding side strip. This creates a clean, shape-stable cushion look.
How are flat cushions under 5 cm made?
-
Cushions with a height of under 5 cm are processed differently. The fabric is folded accordingly so that a neatly rounded edge is created on the top.
What fabrics can I choose for my cover?
-
At LP Polster, different fabric collections are available for indoor and outdoor areas. These include high-quality upholstery fabrics, Agora® outdoor fabrics and Silvertex® faux leather, among others. Which material is best suited depends on the intended use of your cushion.
What is the difference between a visible and a concealed zip?
-
With a visible zip, the focus is on functional, budget-friendly workmanship. The concealed zip is the visually more discreet premium option and is especially suited to high-quality sofa, seat and boat cushions.
What are the benefits of jersey on a cushion?
-
The jersey protects the foam and makes it easier to fit and remove the cushion cover. This can noticeably simplify handling, especially for close-fitting covers.
What are the benefits of additional padding?
-
Padding creates a softer, more voluminous appearance and also affects the feel of the cushion. Depending on the desired look and application, cushions can be made with or without padding. Padding can settle slightly over time with use.
How does padding change the actual height of my cushion?
-
The final cushion height may end up slightly greater than the pure foam height due to fabric, jersey and padding. For a thicker version with jersey and padding, the total height can increase by about 1.5 to 2.3 cm, as a general guide. Without padding, the additional height is noticeably smaller.
Can I have my cushions made from my own sketch?
-
Yes. Custom-made items can also be produced from sketches and templates. This is especially helpful for special shapes, angled cuts or unusual installation situations. It's important that all dimensions required for manufacturing are clearly specified.
Can I order fabric samples before deciding on a cover?
-
Yes. If you're still unsure about colour, texture or material, you can request fabric samples before ordering. This lets you compare different materials with your furniture and interior at your leisure.
Are the covers removable?
-
On request, we make removable covers with a zip that can be easily cleaned.

Can I configure a cushion from the references individually for my project?
-
Yes. Our references serve as examples of shapes, workmanship and finish. Your own cushion is then made individually to your dimensions and requirements. Via the LP-Polster configurator, you can put together your desired custom cushion; for special shapes, sketches or templates can also be taken into account.
Does LP Polster also make complete custom cushion projects?
-
Yes. We make cushions and covers for the most varied projects. These include, for example, sofa and couch, garden furniture, van and caravan, yacht and boat, seating and reading corners, window seats as well as individual special projects. These areas are also offered directly via our website.
Can I see how LP Polster makes its products before ordering?
-
Yes. On our references page, we show various examples of our workmanship and custom-made items. These include different cushion shapes, zip variants as well as examples with foam, jersey and padding. This lets you get a better picture of the different versions before configuring.
